To enhance the Roleplay elements of the game, add quirks that allow greater character development and possibly interaction between characters, I think I'd be awesome to have non-essential game items (mission rewards to be displayed, medals, non-essential tools etc) and non-essential items that include custom Idle animations and use animations.

I've got a couple of ideas thus far, but was wondering what everyone else could come up with. I'II leave you with a short list of mine,

Book/Datapad (Idle/Action 'read/write' animation)
Chinese Meditation Balls (Idle 'palm massage' animation)
Aureole Chewing Gum (Idle 'chew' animation)
Harmonica (Idle/Action 'play blues/play random' animation + sound)

Ah ha ha ha, I love it!

I would set the "chew-gum-n-blow-bubbles" action to my default animation ALL the time! That would be funny as hell!

Hehe, thanks.

I could literally walk into a Bane base and have, "I'm here to kick-ass and chew bubble gum ... And I'm all out of gum." on macro.

On the harmonica a tree stump could magically appear and you sit on it the in the "traditional" harmonica playing way or stance or whatever its called.

Would be cool if somehow in combination with other idle player characters that you could start a card game. They all sit down and start playing cards and "interacting." Might be too intensive but would be cool to see.

Definately... Though if it was just a matter of having one character starting the idle action and other players could simply select that person to action off of, and receive co-orination for their actions from that person it might not be so hard to implement. Its far fetch by todays standards, but it'd open the doors to a whole host of things. It'd be a short step to having the initiator assume a dealer role, and having blackjack automatically take place for anyone who joins in, with minor player interaction to, split, fold or hit etc.

And the person "initiating" or playing dealer would have a Card (or cards) above his/her head so people know who to select.

I'd love for the game to take the Riddick:EFBB approach to displaying actions, changing the camera type or angle and making full use of the beautiful engine and graphics available.

Make the camera zome in on real cards, so players dont play the interface. Although TR claims to be doing this, it still does, Riddick is an example of what can really be achieved.
