Just a quick update from PlanetTR, members from Invictus (in fact one person especially) are attempting to compile the beginnings of a possible Logos primer. It's currently hidden away in our clan section of the forums, but rest assured that we will share it with as many people as possible once it's all put together. I'm sure we could use any insight anyone has to offer, especially from you guys here on TRGamers, once it's finished. Hopefully we can show the DG Dev team how much we appreciate a game with real depth in it if they're willing to put in the time to make it so.

We have a pretty decent amount of translation material and screenshots to work with, but if anyone finds a secret stash of symbols for decription, by all means post it! We'll get to translating them as thoroughly as possible.

Yeah I figured out that the little tally marks on the top of the double person logo (hope that's a decent description..).

The single mark means it is plural including you [inclusive] (we, us; sorta like ellamos in spanish) and the Three marks mean they, them, and others.

When considering the parenthesis version of that logo they become possessive so: our/our's (single tally) and their/their's (three tallys).

That's my interpretation anyway.

In order for it to actually be useful as a universal language, is to translate all the Logos into other languages. So far its only been English, but hopefully they wont stop there.

The main problem with the current way we handle translations is that we assume that it will be a "correct" English phrase adapting the concepts to our need. The strength of Benefactor Language is that it is -not- spoken but only written thus you can interpret it in your own language rather than having to go Eloh-English-French for example.

That's a good point Darth --- like any language we can't just assume it's going to fit the template of English and how we arrange our parts of language.

Ogaming had a post running try to figure exactly what the marking on this forean spear mean. I think the bet guess we had was "War doesn't lead to Victory... Peace/Unity leads to Victory... " something along that line (reading counterclockwise). I'll post a link to the topic when the Ogaming forums go back up (down for their daily respite).

If you actually know what it says... uh.. please brief me.. ignorance is my enemy.

Hmm...
I hadn't seen the concept art for the Staff/spear before....
And my brain has exceed it's Quota for the night so I'll give it a try tommorow, if life allows.

I'll be back.

I read it as "War doesnt lead to victory. Victory leads to Peace." Reading down the left side then reading down the right side, similar to how the BSP paragraph works.

I think the second would be more accurately translated as "Victory Will Be Achieved (By) Peace".
The whole thing looks more like a testament to the fact that the Humans and Foreans must fight together to claims victory over the forces of the Bane. Strife betwen allies can only lead to defeat.

Here is "remade" version of the message

I'm pretty sure that the two symbols in the middle refer to freedom. I thought...

Edit: Answered something I misread so I deleted this as it does not add anything.

Edit: Reusing this to actually reply

I like that line of thought Darth_Tater. I see the "middle logos" as victory in the way that it looks like they are raising their flag in victory of a battle.
